Beautiful and modern Korea

Thursday, 26 July 2012

Finally, after 6 hours in the AirAsia X, we're arrived at Incheon International Airport. Incheon is about 1 hour drive from Seoul. I've read that Incheon was one of the busiest and largest airport in the world. For 7 years (2005-2012) it has been awarded as the best airport in the world by Airport Council International. No wonder..this airport is very very huge, modern and clean. We had to use a shuttle train, just for terminal transfer. Luxurious boutique and shops were full of customers ( most tourist do shopping in Korea, even in the airport :)). We didn't have much time to explore this airport because we wanted to check in, take a shower and brush the teeth as soon as possible :). Then, we went to the information center, and bought 2 Airport Limousine Bus tickets. We took bus no 6015 to stop at Myeongdong area. The bus fare is 10.000 KRW/person (IDR 80.000). The driver was so gentle, kind of most Korean people. We stopped in front of King Sejong Hotel, and easily found our hotel because of the map that I've printed from the website. Our hotel is very very recommended !! The room is very clean, has modern design and facility beyond our expectation, such as flat TV, refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink, hot n cold shower, free wifi and toast with jam, cereal, milk, coffee and teain the morning. The owner, Mr JK Lee is very kind, helpful and speaks English very well, and also the staff (exclude the housekeeping, she spoke only Korean). The best part of our hotel is the Location. We could reach the hip Myeongdong area just by walking 5 minutes, with Myeongdong subway station under it. You don't have to worry about about food, because many restaurant and minimart could be reached by only several steps :). We decided to stay here for 6 nights (all the nights we had in Seoul). We payed 65.000 KRW/room/nights. It was a great value of money... Visit www.residenceeo.com. Very very recommended :)

After showering, we went near the hotel for hunting lunch. We found a small restaurant which style -As seen in TV Korean drama's -. The owner can't speak English, so we just pointed a picture with title "Basin Frozen Pollack Soup". We ordered it, and surprisingly, it was very delicious in a very big portion !! Even we're very starving that time, we couldn't finish it....we pay 16.000 KRW for that soup plus 2 rice. The food was worth it since the portion was big enough for 4 persons. And this will make you love Korea more....all restaurant give free flow mineral water (I think it came from filter machine, but it was very okay, and they always gave the cold one in the summer :))
